Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA), Karachi is the only institution in Pakistan offering pre-sea training for Merchant Navy officers. With over six decades of maritime excellence, PMA opens admissions for its 64th Batch (Session 2026-27) in Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering branches. Nautical (Deck) Cadet
Marine Engineering Cadet

The two-year residential training will be conducted at PMA, followed by mandatory sea service onboard ships to qualify as Merchant Navy officers.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering) or O/A Levels (with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) passed with at least 55% marks.
Candidates awaiting Part II results can apply with hope certificates but must submit final results before final selection.
For A-Level candidates, equivalence must be obtained from IBCC.
Candidates from Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir will receive 1-year age relaxation and quota-based preference.

Age Limit

Maximum age: 20 years as of 31st December 2025
21 years for candidates from underrepresented regions (Balochistan, AJK, GB).

Physical Fitness Requirements

Height: Minimum 5 feet 4 inches
Weight: Proportionate to height
Must pass a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which includes.
- 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
- 15 push-ups
- 15 sit-ups

Medical Standards

Candidates must be medically fit as per IMO/WHO standards.
Final medical examination will be conducted at designated hospitals after initial selection.

Admission Procedure

Admissions will be conducted through a written entry test, PET, interview, and final merit:

Written Test: English, Math, Physics, and General Knowledge
Merit Formula:
- 40% Matric/FSc Marks
- 50% Written Test
- 10% PET/Interview

Merit-based selection will be strictly followed. Candidates involved in academic fraud, criminal cases, or disciplinary action will be disqualified at any stage.

To be paid via Bank Draft/Pay Order in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi
Forms must be submitted through courier. Hand submissions are not accepted.
